Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department to lead staff, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality patient care on the Day shift. This role requires RN licensure in Iowa or a compact state, BLS/ACLS/PALS, TNCC, and ongoing professional development.

Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills are essential. Responsibilities include coordinating staffing, training, evaluating staff, and implementing quality initiatives in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa or a compact state required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• TNCC completion preferred; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise ED staff, mentoring and evaluating performance.
• Plan staffing and training to support department goals.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and high-quality patient care.
• Manage staff relations, performance appraisals, and quality initiatives.
• Ensure safety, cost containment, and effective operations in the ED.
