Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a dynamic clinical setting. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, ensuring safe, individualized treatment plans and effective family education.

Required is an RN license for Iowa or a compact state, BLS certification, and ACLS either at hire or within three months. Previous acute care experience is preferred; a BSN is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training completed or scheduled.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or completed within 3 months of hire.
• Previous RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate critical information during handoffs to patients, families and colleagues to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using a patient-centered approach.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation aligned with hospital policies.
• Demonstrate ability to think critically and respond to emergencies within scope of practice.
• Delegate appropriately to licensed staff and collaborate with the health care team.
• Provide ongoing education to patients and families and support a positive work environment.
