Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Dept BH Suite in Farmingdale, Maine. This 24 hour/week night shift position (7p–7a) focuses on direct patient care for behavioral health patients following the nursing process and organizational policies.

The selected RN will join a multidisciplinary team, plan and evaluate care, collaborate across disciplines, and support patients and families through education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Three years of acute care RN experience serving behavioral health patients.
• Valid Maine RN license or ability to obtain promptly.
• BLS and MOAB preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implements, and evaluates patient care plans for behavioral health patients.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition; coordinate transfers, admissions, discharges, referrals.
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
• Delegate and communicate care needs to ancillary staff; may precept students or new hires.
