Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health for the Emergency Dept BH Suite in Manchester, Maine. This 24-hour-per-week night shift role focuses on direct inpatient care for behavioral health patients, applying the nursing process within our caring, patient-centered team.

• Three years of acute care RN work experience in the relevant patient population is required.
• Maine RN license or ability to obtain in a timely fashion is required.
• BLS and MOAB are preferred.
• Demonstrated flexibility, problem solving and critical thinking.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans using the nursing process.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition accurately.
• Collaborate across disciplines for transfers, admissions, discharges, referrals and psychosocial support needs.
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
• Delegate and communicate care needs to ancillary staff; may precept students or new hires.
