Job summary

The Lindner Center of Hope is seeking a Mental Health Technician – ECT (FTE 0.8, 32 hours) to provide direct care under RN supervision. This role supports acute mental health treatment, performs essential clinical tasks, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on the unit.

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, EMR documentation, and engagement in therapeutic activities. CPR certification to be obtained after hire; position requires flexibility across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with one year of direct patient care experience.
• Active enrollment in a degree program (nursing, psychology, social work or related).
• CPR Certification to be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain clinical measurements and vital signs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Document in the EMR and complete patient shift summaries.
• Report changes in patient status or abnormal findings to the RN.
• Deliver care per the established individualized treatment plan.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and leisure.
• Maintain a calm, safe, and healing environment.
• Perform Health Unit Coordinator clerical duties on unit workflow.
• Respond to emergencies and escalating behavior with appropriate action.

Education
