Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define the vision, architecture, and strategy for the Databricks ecosystem. You will enable customers to integrate cutting-edge applications and assist developers to thrive on our platform.

You will lead with technical guidance across teams, shape API design (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), and drive collaboration with product, engineering, and BDRs to align roadmaps with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building data-intensive applications or systems.
• Strong expertise in database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and big data processing.
• Experience designing high-performance APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and managing integrations.
• Knowledge of data security, governance, and cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the ecosystem strategy and architecture for Databricks’ ecosystem.
• Develop frameworks, APIs, and tools for partners and developers to build, integrate, and scale within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Enable customers to integrate cutting-edge applications and functionalities with Databricks.
• Lead and mentor engineers, provide architectural direction, and promote best practices.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business development to align roadmaps with business goals.
• Engage with open-source communities and advocate for ecosystem enablement.
• Represent Databricks at industry events and influence the data and AI landscape.
