Position Title: Economics - Non‑Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool

About the Position The Economics Department at Western Washington University maintains a vacancy pool from which qualified candidates will be selected to fill full and part‑time, non‑tenure‑track positions. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled as they become available. The greatest need is for candidates with experience teaching Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics. There may be an opportunity to teach additional upper‑division courses depending on qualifications and experience.

Teaching Responsibilities • Teach Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics (core courses). • May be asked to teach additional upper‑division courses as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Demonstrated successful experience in teaching
  • Academically or professionally qualified in accordance with College and AACSB standards
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to cultivating equitable and inclusive learning environments for students with diverse social identities and backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD
Conditions of Employment

Salary: $2,000‑$2,250 per credit, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

All employees must comply with the university’s immunization policy, including proof of Rubeola (measles) immunity within 60 days of hire. All new employees must also provide employment eligibility verification as required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services before beginning work. A thorough background check, including a criminal and sexual misconduct check, will be conducted on all new hires and rehires.
