Job summary

BBX Co. is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to own ecommerce (Shopify) accounting and support corporate accounting for the main company. You will manage monthly ecommerce P&L, automate Shopify payouts, and partner with leadership to scale the accounting operation as the website grows.

Within this finance-first role, focus on automated processes, internal controls, and accurate financial reporting. Hybrid or onsite collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior accounting/assistant controller experience.
• Retail or apparel accounting experience
• Shopify financial reconciliation experience
• Experience with Shopify-to-accounting automation tools
• Corporate month-end close and financial reporting experience
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
• Experience auditing vendor invoices and SaaS billing
• Nice to have GA4 ecommerce tracking experience

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly ecommerce P&L reporting
• Oversee automated reconciliation of Shopify payouts and resolve exceptions
• Ensure proper categorization of revenue, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, and fees
• Own the ecommerce month-end close process
• Track gross margin, contribution margin, and net profit trends
• Identify margin erosion and profit leaks
• Automate ecommerce accounting in QuickBooks and Shopify tools
• Reconcile vendor invoices against internal data
• Validate pricing changes and new charge types
• Maintain sales tax reporting inputs and summaries for filing
• File monthly sales tax for the website
• Support corporate accounting for the main company
• Maintain organized monthly reporting packages for external accountants
