The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, inventory accounting, and internal controls while partnering closely with leadership to drive informed business decisions. This individual must thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment where processes are evolving quickly and attention to detail matters.

Looking for a highly organized, strategic, and hands‑on Controller to lead and scale the financial operations of one of the fastest‑growing companies in the sports memorabilia and legacy asset industry. This role is critical to building the financial infrastructure that supports rapid growth, multi‑channel sales, operational expansion, and long‑term scalability.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all daily accounting operations including AP/AR, reconciliations, and month‑end close
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting, forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections
  • Manage accounting across e‑commerce, warehouse, retail, and event operations
  • Build scalable financial processes and internal controls to support company growth
  • Oversee revenue recognition and reconciliation across Shopify, retail locations, auctions, and partner sales channels
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, and Leadership to evaluate profitability, margins, pricing, and operational efficiency
  • Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, processors, and financial partners
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax, state filings, vendor payments, and financial regulations
  • Support investor reporting, board materials, and future fundraising initiatives
  • Assist with contract review from a financial and operational risk perspective
  • Continuously improve systems, reporting structures, and financial visibility across the organization
  • Provide weekly reporting and complete monthly client invoicing
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of inventory‑based businesses, e‑commerce (Shopify), retail, or consumer products
  • Experience in startup or high‑growth environments preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and cash management
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, and financial systems
  • Experience building scalable processes and operational workflows
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functional
