Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an ECMO Specialist (RN or Respiratory Therapist) to operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients needing long-term cardiopulmonary support. This role requires independent work under physician guidance, with a team-focused approach to planning and delivering complex care.

Ideal candidates have ICU/critical care experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year ICU or Critical Care experience in RN or Respiratory Therapist role.
• Two years ICU/CCU experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment; able to lead.
• Computer skills; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ECMO circuit and equipment.
• Monitor patient status and ECMO circuit; plan and deliver care with the health care team.
• Maintain ECMO pump; troubleshoot problems during ECMO procedures.
• Follow policies and procedures; work under ECMO physician and coordinator.
