Job summary

Fairview Health Services is hiring an ECMO Specialist at the University of Minnesota Medical Center – East Bank in Minneapolis, MN. The role includes providing mechanical circulatory support and ECMO management with a 0.9 FTE schedule (72 hours every two weeks) and a $18,000 sign-on bonus.

The ECMO Specialist will assemble, monitor, and troubleshoot ECMO equipment, collaborate with bedside nurses and ECMO providers, and contribute to quality improvement efforts while adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• BSN required for Nurse Track.
• Respiratory Therapy track requires ARCor/JCRTE approved program and a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience.
• BLS certification required; Minnesota RN license OR Respiratory Therapist license with NBRC.
• PALS and ACLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mechanical Circulatory and Extracorporeal Life Support to patients of all ages.
• Monitor and troubleshoot ECMO equipment and circuits.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to deliver patient care.
• Mentor and train ECMO staff and nurses.
