Fairview is hiring an ECMO Specialist to join our team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank located in Minneapolis, MN.
The ECMO Specialist is responsible for all aspects of ECMO and mechanical circulatory support, including assembling, priming, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting ECMO equipment and circuits throughout the duration of patient support. Working in close partnership with bedside nurses and internally credentialed ECMO providers, the ECMO Specialist ensures optimal oxygenation, perfusion, acid‑base balance, and hemodynamic stability in accordance with ordered parameters.
This role requires expert‑level clinical judgment, strong technical skills, and the ability to anticipate and manage emergent situations while adhering to established policies and procedures. The ECMO Specialist also supports quality improvement initiatives by collecting and reviewing internal and external data to benchmark performance and promote best practices.
0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). Every third weekend required, 12‑hour nights, 2 call shifts per 6‑week schedule.
