Job summary

Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT, is seeking an Intermediate level Echocardiographer to perform and assist with adult echocardiographic tests, delivering high-quality diagnostic studies and pediatric images when required.

The role requires an Associate Degree in a health-related field (Bachelor's preferred), 1 year of echocardiography experience (2 years preferred), and current ARDMS/CCI credentials plus CPR. Hartford HealthCare supports continued education and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in health-related field required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
• One year of echocardiography experience; two years in a hospital setting preferred.
• RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification required; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with adult echocardiographic tests and related duties per department policies.
• Provide high-quality diagnostic studies and obtain pediatric echocardiographic images per CCMC protocol when indicated.
• Provide preliminary findings to Cardiologist to aid interpretation of the study.

Job Summary

Intermediate level Echocardiographer

Performs and assists with a variety of adult echocardiographic tests and other related duties according to department policies and procedures in order to provide high quality diagnostic studies. Able to obtain pediatric echocardiographic images according to CCMC pediatric protocol.

Provides safe and appropriate care to patients undergoing echocardiography by maintaining comprehensive understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. Provides preliminary findings to Cardiologist to aid in the interpretation of the study.

Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in Health Related Field. Bachelor’s degree in Health Related Field preferred.

Experience: One year previous Echcardiography experience. Two years Echcardiography experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification required. Valid CPR certification required.
