Hartford HealthCare is seeking an Echo Technician to perform echocardiographic studies under limited supervision, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging and adherence to lab protocols. Locations include New Haven, Branford and Hamden.

Candidates should have an Associates or Bachelor\'s degree in health care, at least one year of echo experience, and ARDMS/CCI credentials; hospital experience preferred, with focus on team collaboration and patient care across Connecticut\'s leading health

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in health care.
  • At least one year of echo experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school.
  • Two years echo experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Produce echocardiograms meeting lab protocols.
  • Identify studies requiring vetting for appropriateness.
  • Participate in transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart cases where applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Performs and assists with a variety of echocardiographic tests and other related duties, working under limited supervision to ensure high quality diagnostic studies. Reports to the manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services/ Manager of Echo Lab or Office/Practice Manager.

  • Produce echocardiograms that satisfy the laboratory protocols for standard transthoracic imaging and for special conditions including valvular heart disease, stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and strain imaging.
  • Identify studies which require vetting for appropriateness. Recognizes true cardiac emergencies, including cardiac tamponade, aortic dissection, and acute valvular regurgitation. Uses contrast for appropriate indications
  • Participates fully in all the routine procedures within the laboratory, including transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart disease cases where applicable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
