Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking a per diem Echocardiography Technologist.

You will set up and operate imaging equipment, perform Doppler/Color/TEE studies, and ensure high-quality images for PACS in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role requires an associate degree in a health-related field (bachelor’s preferred), ARDMS/CCI certification, CPR, and at least one year of hospital imaging experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in health-related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification required; CPR certification required.
  • One year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in all phases of echocardiography including Doppler, Color, stress, Echocardiography and TEE.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment and maneuvers transducers for exams.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures.
  • Performs routine and complex studies and assists in imaging procedures.
  • Recognizes structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
  • Positions patients and selects parameters accurately.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and submits high-quality images to PACS.

Job Summary
  • Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.
Responsibilities
  • Sets up and adjusts all imaging equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate’s degree in health-related Field. Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred. Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification required. Valid CPR certification required.
Work Experience
  • One year of experience required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Proficiency in all phases of echocardiography including Doppler, Color, stress, Echocardiography and TEE experience.
