Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an echocardiography professional to perform and assist with a variety of echocardiographic tests under limited supervision. Reports to the manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services/Echo Lab.

The role involves producing high-quality studies, identifying appropriate studies, recognizing true emergencies, and participating in transesophageal and stress echo procedures across our Connecticut network. Travel to multiple offices is required.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in health care.
• One year of prior echo experience.
• 2–3 years of experience total.
• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school.
• Travel to Wallingford and Southington offices.
• RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification.

Responsibilities

• Produce echocardiograms that satisfy laboratory protocols.
• Identify studies for appropriateness; recognize emergencies and use contrast as indicated.
• Participate in routine lab procedures including transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart disease cases.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Performs and assists with a variety of echocardiographic tests and other related duties, working under limited supervision to ensure high quality diagnostic studies. Reports to the manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services/ Manager of Echo Lab or Office/Practice Manager.

• Produce echocardiograms that satisfy the laboratory protocols for standard transthoracic imaging and for special conditions including valvular heart disease, stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and strain imaging.
• Identify studies which require vetting for appropriateness. Recognizes true cardiac emergencies, including cardiac tamponade, aortic dissection, and acute valvular regurgitation. Uses contrast for appropriate indications
• Participates fully in all the routine procedures within the laboratory, including transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart disease cases where applicable.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience
• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school
• Travel to covering offices (Wallingford and Southington)
• RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS
