Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Norwalk location seeks a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform diverse echocardiographic studies under limited supervision. You will ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging in line with lab protocols and contribute to coverage for transesophageal and stress echo as needed.

The role requires graduation from an accredited ultrasound program, CPR certification, and 1 year of echocardiography experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program is required.
• State CPR certification is required or current.
• Experience in echocardiography procedures and image optimization.

Responsibilities

• Produce echocardiograms that meet lab protocols for standard imaging and specialty cases.
• Assist with transesophageal and stress echo procedures as applicable.
• Identify studies for appropriateness and recognize cardiac emergencies.

Job Summary

Performs and assists with a variety of echocardiographic tests and other related duties, working under limited supervision to ensure high quality diagnostic studies. Reports to the manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services/ Manager of Echo Lab or Office/Practice Manager.

• Produce echocardiograms that satisfy the laboratory protocols for standard transthoracic imaging and for special conditions including valvular heart disease, stress echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and strain imaging.
• Participates fully in all the routine procedures within the laboratory, including transesophageal echo, stress echo, and structural heart disease cases where applicable.
• Identify studies which require vetting for appropriateness. Recognizes true cardiac emergencies, including cardiac tamponade, aortic dissection, and acute valvular regurgitation. Uses contrast for appropriate indications
  
  

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school
• High School Diploma
• One-year previous echocardiography experience
• Experience with two-dimensional, m-mode, Doppler, TEE and stress echo
• RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS
