Job summary

Intermountain Health in Lafayette, Colorado, seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under physician direction. This position is ideal for recent echocardiography program graduates or those new to the field, with part-time, 30-hour weeks and 10-hour day shifts.

You will coordinate exams with staff, educate patients, document results, mentor students, and support quality improvement initiatives while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification required for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; education from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by identifying patients and educating them on procedures.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
• Document exam results and coordinate care with physicians and patients.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and procedural technique.
• Apply correct charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
• Support quality improvement initiatives.
• Pursue educational opportunities to develop additional skills.
