Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician supervision at St. Mary\'s Regional Hospital with rotations to the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction. You will manage exams, ensure patient safety, and communicate results to the care team.

Requirements include ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac/vascular sonography and BLS; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Full-time, 40 hours weekly with four 10-hour shifts and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (education must be from an accredited institution).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
• Educate patients and families on procedure; transport patients as needed.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and care team during exams.
• Return patient to room after exam and ensure stability and safety.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area; manage supplies.
• Coordinate repairs or supply needs as required.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and education opportunities.
