Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams under physician direction. The position supports a 40-hour week with four 10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, and on-call duties requiring quick response. Primarily at St.

Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotations at the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction. Minimum qualifications include ARDMS or CCI certification and BLS. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and will be verified.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by educating patients and transporting them.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exams.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment and technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment, work area and supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs through proper channels.
• Support quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to develop skills and knowledge.
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
