Job summary

Danville Community College seeks a Program Director of Early Childhood Education to lead the program and teach as a Faculty Instructor. The role combines administrative oversight with classroom instruction in a 9-month schedule, starting January 2027.

Responsibilities include accreditation support with NAEYC, curriculum leadership, field placement coordination, student advising, faculty support, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, OR
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education with demonstrated competency in Early Childhood Education, OR
• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field + 15 graduate hours obtained subsequent to the Master’s.
• At least 2 years of related occupational experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the faculty lead for the Early Childhood Education program.
• Assist the dean with planning, scheduling, and coordination of ECE courses.
• Facilitate communication among ECE adjunct instructors and the ASB division dean.
• Coordinate program meetings and collaborative planning activities.
• Assist with development and implementation of program goals and strategic initiatives.
• Teach assigned Early Childhood Education courses in accordance with college policies.
• Maintain current knowledge of early childhood education theory, practice, and policy.
