Job summary

Danville Community College seeks a Program Director of Early Childhood Education to oversee the ECE program's administration and instruction, mentor instructors, and ensure alignment with NAEYC standards and state workforce guidelines.

The role includes coordinating field placements, advising students, and partnering with the Dean, community organizations, and accrediting bodies to advance program outcomes. This is a full-time position based in Danville with a salary commensurate to experience.

Responsibilities

• Program coordinates the Early Childhood Education program, serving as faculty lead
• Assist the dean with planning, scheduling, and coordination of ECE courses
• Facilitate communication among ECE adjunct instructors and the ASB division dean
• Coordinate program meetings and collaborative planning activities
• Assist with development and implementation of program goals and strategic initiatives
• Assist in maintaining NAEYC accreditation compliance
• Coordinate collection and documentation of assessment data and accreditation evidence
• Support preparation of NAEYC annual reports, program self-study, and reaccreditation materials
• Ensure curriculum and assessments align with NAEYC Standards and Competencies
• Maintain records required for accreditation review
• Lead collaborative efforts to develop and maintain ECE curriculum
• Coordinate program learning outcomes assessment and reporting
• Review and recommend updates to courses based on industry changes
• Coordinate student practicum and field experiences
• Maintain partnerships with local childcare centers and Head Start programs
• Ensure field experiences meet NAEYC clinical practice requirements
• Monitor student progress in field placements and support site supervisors
• Advise students on program requirements, pathways, and transfer opportunities
• Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and outreach events
• Support student retention and program completion initiatives
• Serve as a resource and liaison for adjunct and full-time faculty
• Facilitate sharing of curriculum resources and best practices
• Assist with onboarding of new adjunct faculty
• Coordinate faculty participation in program assessment and accreditation activities
• Develop and maintain relationships with local early childhood education providers and agencies
• Collaborate with community partners on workforce development
• Represent the ECE program in community events and advisory committees
• Assist with collection and analysis of program data
