Job summary

A leading client is seeking a Department Administrator for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in Piscataway, NJ. This temporary 6-month role offers a structured schedule and potential extension based on department needs.

Responsibilities include managing lab equipment requisitions, training TAs, coordinating lab safety and audits, and handling public events. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
• Ability to work in an ECE lab and/or Physics lab.
• Detail oriented, organized, fast learner and proactive.
• Ability to guide students and work with a large student group, juggle multiple student demands in the lab and maintain other administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions for lab equipment and maintain inventory, parts stock, keys and access.
• Assist with training of Teaching Assistants in instructional labs and prepare experiments.
• Coordinate facilities safety training, lab audits, and Right-to-Know compliance.
• Coordinate public events such as engineering open houses, tours, and poster printing services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
