Job summary

Teradyne’s ECAD Solutions team in North Reading, MA seeks a Software Support Engineer to support Hardware and PCB Design Engineers using Cadence tools. You’ll troubleshoot, document defects, create training materials, and test new software releases in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and a customer-service mindset within a small team. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in software support or software engineering.
• Strong familiarity with Cadence PCB tools (preferred).
• Ability to turn vague questions into structured troubleshooting plans.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and programming languages listed above.
• Experience using AI solutions to solve engineering tasks.
• Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical support contact for Hardware/PCB Design Engineers using Cadence tools.
• Troubleshoot software issues, reproduce problems, and isolate root causes.
• Document defects, verify fixes, and submit improvement requests.
• Create technical documentation and training materials for internal teams.
• Deliver technical training for onboarding and software adoption.
• Test new software releases for compatibility with Teradyne’s environment.
• Manage access to websites and fileservers for secure workflows.
• Identify and implement bug fixes affecting engineering workflows.
