Job summary

Teradyne seeks a Software Applications Engineer in North Reading, MA to support Hardware Engineering and PCB Design using Cadence tools. You will troubleshoot complex software issues, craft clear fixes, and author training materials for engineers.

You will collaborate with global teams, document defects, and contribute to product improvements while ensuring secure, efficient workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in software support, software engineering, or working with EDA tools.
• Strong familiarity with Cadence PCB tools: System Capture, Allegro PCB Designer, and/or Sigrity.
• Ability to turn vague customer questions into structured troubleshooting plans.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, Cadence Skill, Tcl/Tk, HTML, Ruby, MySQL.
• Experience using AI solutions to solve engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for technical support to Hardware Engineering and PCB Design Engineers using Cadence tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues through reproducing problems and isolating root causes.
• Document defects, verify fixes, and submit product improvement requests.
• Create technical documentation and training materials for internal teams.
• Deliver technical training sessions for onboarding and software adoption.
• Participate in testing of new software releases for compatibility with Teradyne's environment.
• Manage access control to websites and fileservers for secure workflows.
• Identify, diagnose, and implement bug fixes affecting engineering workflows.
