Job summary

Teradyne, a global test and automation leader, seeks a Software Support Engineer in North Reading, MA. You will guide Hardware Engineers and PCB Designers on Cadence tools, troubleshoot software issues, and contribute to product improvements.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and impactful engineering support. The position requires 1–3 years in software support or engineering with Cadence PCB tools and Linux experience, plus strong diagnostic skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in CS/EE.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in software support, software engineering, or working with EDA tools.
• Strong familiarity with Cadence PCB tools: System Capture, Allegro, and/or Sigrity.
• Ability to turn vague customer questions into structured troubleshooting plans.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and programming languages listed (Python, PHP, Perl, Cadence Skill, Tcl/Tk, HTML, Ruby, MySQL).
• Experience using AI solutions to solve engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical support contact for Hardware Engineering and PCB Design Engineers using Cadence tools to troubleshoot and assist.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues by reproducing problems and isolating root causes; collaborate with Cadence support as needed.
• Document defects, verify fixes, and submit product improvement requests based on feedback.
• Create technical documentation and training materials for internal teams.
• Deliver technical training sessions for onboarding and software adoption.
• Participate in testing of new software releases for compatibility with Teradyne's environment.
