ECAD Librarian: Altium Library Lead for DFM & Standards

Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a detail-oriented ECAD Librarian to own and grow our Altium component library, ensuring accurate, standardized symbols, footprints, and 3D models. You will partner with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to enforce IPC/DFM practices before board release.

You will define naming conventions, manage part workflows, and drive library audits, while coordinating with design teams and suppliers to maintain data integrity across the design organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, or an associate degree with equivalent experience.
• 2–5+ years of experience in ECAD library management, component engineering, or PCB design.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models per IPC/DFM standards.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, pad stacks, and 3D models in Altium per ds/data sheets.
• Apply IPC-7351 land-pattern standards and JEDEC packages to ensure DFMA compatibility.
• Define naming conventions, templates, and lifecycle states; manage part introductions and audits.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to source accurate data and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain ECAD-to-PLM integrations and explore scripting automation to reduce errors.
