Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an EC teacher assistant to support teachers and EC students under supervision. You will help students access general education, guide progress toward IEP goals, and follow district policies on campus.

The role requires assisting with classroom activities, supervision, and daily school operations, including documentation and collaboration with staff. Full-time, 9-month schedule in NC schools.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to EC.
• Ability to use current technology and communication methods for disabilities.
• Experience with IEP processes and differentiation techniques.
• Ability to follow policies and maintain student data confidentiality.
• Willingness to participate in professional development.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, yards and gyms.
• Enforce administration policies and rules for students.
• Coordinate duties with the classroom teacher to support instruction.
• Provide physical assistance and monitor students' use of equipment.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals.
• Present subject matter under guidance using various delivery methods.
• Assist with checking materials, portfolios, and testing as directed.
• Assist with attendance, record-keeping, and organizing learning spaces.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays.
• Participate in daily transportation duties and school activities.
• Provide assistance during emergency drills, field trips, and related functions.
