Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an EC teacher assistant to support the assigned teacher and guide EC students toward their IEP goals. Under general supervision, you will provide classroom assistance and help students access general education as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to exceptional children.
• Ability to use current technology and communication tools for disabilities.
• Classroom management and differentiation techniques.
• Understanding of Individual Education Programs (IEP) and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and gymnasiums.
• Support routine administration tasks and attendance procedures.
• Prepare and organize lesson materials and classroom displays.
• Aid with testing, portfolios, and documentation of student progress toward IEP goals.
