Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an EC teacher assistant to support exceptional children in the classroom and during inclusive activities. You will assist with individual or small-group instruction under supervision, monitor student progress toward IEP goals, and help prepare learning materials.

Responsibilities include supervising students in classrooms and common areas, assisting with portfolios and testing, and supporting transportation and daily routines as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assist with instructional activities and reinforce learning concepts.
• Ability to supervise and manage student behavior in classrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Familiarity with IEP goals and progress documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with individual or small-group instruction.
• Supervise students in various school settings.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals and support inclusive practices.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Support during bus, arrival, and dismissal procedures.
