Job summary

Esd113 seeks an Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher Assistant to support the assigned teacher and EC students under general supervision. The role helps students access general education and achieve IEP goals in line with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools policies.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group instruction, classroom supervision, data collection on progress toward IEP goals, materials preparation, and routine task support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required (or equivalent).
• Experience with EC students and IEP goals preferred.
• Ability to perform duties with supervision and adapt to classroom needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums.
• Collect data to document individual student progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare lesson materials, bulletin boards, displays, equipment, and demonstrations.
• Participate in daily bus, car and van transportation duties for student arrival and departure.
