Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students under teacher supervision. You will assist with IEP goals, supervise in classrooms and common areas, and help prepare instructional materials and activities.

The role emphasizes adherence to policies, collaboration with teachers, and safeguarding student wellbeing. Prior EC experience is preferred; the position is hourly and full-time for 9 months.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of IEP processes and classroom management.
  • Ability to implement guidelines into daily operations.
  • Strong communication and judgment under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and gymnasiums.
  • Support teacher with materials, testing, and attendance duties.
  • Document student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays.
