Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to exceptional children.
• Ability to use current technology and communication tools related to disabilities.
• Knowledge of classroom management and differentiation techniques.
• Knowledge of the IEP process, strategies, and learning assessment concepts.
• Ability to use research-based instruction and behavior management methods.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and gyms.
• Enforce school policies and rules.
• Coordinate with the classroom teacher on instructional efforts.
• Monitor students and assist with equipment to prevent injuries.
• Document student progress toward IEP goals.
