Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to deliver instruction to elementary and secondary students with emotional impairments in a specialized program. You will design and implement an annual classroom syllabus, monitor progress, and prepare IEPs for each student while maintaining accurate records and meeting California state requirements.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree required; CTC credential required.
• One year experience with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and/or adolescents.
• Master's degree preferred; internship candidates encouraged.
• Credential in Mild/Moderate, Moderate Severe, or LH to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement IEPs for assigned students.
• Lead daily classroom lessons using school syllabus.
• Supervise 1:1 aides and educational assistants.
• Monitor academic and behavioral progress and issue grades.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to support learning.
• Complete annual IEPs and participate in meetings.
