Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide services for elementary and/or secondary students with emotional impairments in our specialized program in Cupertino, CA.

You will develop annual classroom syllabi, design and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate with parents, Educational Advisors, and staff. The role requires strong communication, classroom management skills, and commitment to compliant education practices.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree required; CTC credential required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Mild/Moderate or Moderate Severe or LH credential required or eligible.
• At least 1 year of experience with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed students.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily lessons to students per approved syllabus.
• Develop and implement IEPs and annual goals.
• Supervise paraprofessional support staff.
• Maintain attendance and assess progress; issue grades.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to address needs.
• Plan field trips and classroom activities.
• Complete annual IEPs and monitor goals.
• Attend meetings and workshops.
