Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Director of Maintenance Operations for the East Region. You will own end-to-end maintenance performance across regional hubs, set standards, and scale a maintenance operating model across multiple sites and regulatory contexts.

You will lead site heads of maintenance, enforce systems, and drive reliability while ensuring safety and audit readiness in a fast-moving logistics environment. This is a senior leadership role with broad impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading maintenance or technical operations in aerospace, aviation, robotics, or other high-reliability hardware environments.
• Proven experience owning outcomes across multiple sites or regions, not just a single operation.
• Strong systems thinker who can balance standardization with local execution realities.
• Demonstrated ability to build leaders, not just teams, and hold them accountable to measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Own Regional Maintenance Performance across the East Region, including fleet uptime, staffing, and budget.
• Lead and develop site-level maintenance leaders at multiple hubs and sites.
• Design and enforce regional maintenance systems, preventive and corrective programs, and documentation.
• Drive reliability at scale with data-informed prioritization and upgrade plans.
• Ensure safety and regulatory excellence with audit-ready compliance across states.
• Partner cross-functionally with Flight Ops, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve systemic issues.
