Job summary

Macfarlane Group PLC in Nottingham seeks a senior leader to take full P&L responsibility for the East Midlands Regional Distribution Centre. You will drive commercial and operational performance, shape the business plan, and lead sales, procurement and logistics with a hands‑on, results‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior general management role with commercial accountability.
• Proven track record leading sales teams and delivering revenue/profit growth.
• Experience managing a sizeable distribution/logistics operation.
• Commercial and financial acumen including P&L, budgets and business plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall commercial and operational performance of the East Midlands Regional Distribution Centre with full P&L accountability.
• Develop and deliver the site's annual business plan with clear sales, margin, service and profitability objectives.
• Lead and develop the local sales function, drive new business, customer retention and account growth.
• Oversee procurement, logistics and wider operational activity with high service levels.
• Analyse financial performance and take proactive action to maximise site profitability.
• Identify new revenue opportunities to support sustainable growth.
• Promote a culture aligned to health & safety, excellence and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead talent management, succession planning and recruitment across the site.
