Job summary

A1 Garage Door in Detroit seeks a hands-on technician to repair and install garage door systems. You’ll diagnose problems, talk to homeowners like the pro they trust, and fix it yourself.

This role is commission-based, with uncapped earnings. You’ll receive a company vehicle, gas card, medical/dental/vision, 401k, PTO, weekly pay, six weeks of paid training (2 weeks local, 4 weeks Phoenix Academy, travel covered) and a graduation bonus.

Qualifications

• 21+, valid license, 3+ years driving record.
• Able to lift 75 lbs, bend, climb, kneel, in extreme temps.
• Some hands-on mechanical experience or comfort with tools.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check, drug test and driving record.
• Basic tech comfort (apps, tablets) and reading/payments.
• No sales experience required; we teach that.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and repair garage doors, springs, cables, rollers, and motors.
• Install parts and perform daily hands-on maintenance.
• Talk to homeowners professionally and build trust to earn a yes.
• Follow safety protocols and complete work with quality.
