Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the department.
• Develop and implement SOPs for Specimen Processing per Quest Diagnostics guidelines.
• Review QA/QC documentation and ensure compliance.
• Monitor workflow and ensure adequate supply of specimens to technical teams.
• Prepare month-end reports and manage time/attendance records.
• Participate in Six Sigma projects and process improvements.
• Coach, develop and supervise staff; conduct annual performance appraisals.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring new staff when needed.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility and manage overtime within budget.
