Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock/yard worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers. The role begins with a starting pay of $21.16 per hour and includes evening/night shifts (2,200-3,000).

The candidate will use forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to handle freight, verify documentation, secure cargo, and assist customers with freight paperwork. Prior warehousing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warehousing/freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and operate trailer doors.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck for freight handling.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
