Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to load and unload freight, verify documentation, and secure loads for transit.

The role requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, weather-exposed dock environment. Hourly pay ranges with benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior warehousing or dock experience is preferred.
• Forklift operations experience is preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard duties is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify freight documentation for type, weight, and hazards.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required reports and assist customers with freight docs.
• Perform hostling duties if required and comply with policies.
