Job summary

Early Learning Corps, powered by AmeriCorps and administered by Ampact, seeks an Early Learning Tutor in a pre-kindergarten classroom in Mississippi. You will deliver proven activities to boost early literacy and numeracy, work with a teacher, and receive coaching and training.

This full-time AmeriCorps role offers a biweekly stipend and the chance to make a lasting impact on young learners. Schedule is Monday through Friday, ~35 hours per week for the 2026-27 year, with potential part-time

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet with on-site coach regularly.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into tracking software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
