Job summary

Early Learning Corps, powered by Ampact, is hiring an Early Learning Tutor in the New York area to work in a pre-kindergarten classroom. You’ll deliver proven activities, coach students, and help build early literacy and math skills in collaboration with a classroom teacher.

You'll be part of AmeriCorps, receiving a stipend every two weeks. The position offers 32 hours per week with schedule aligned to school days, and opportunities for growth through coaching and training.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into tracking software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
