Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in West Newbury, MA is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers and their families. You will collaborate with caregivers to tailor services and use evidence-based practices in a family-centered model.

The role involves IFSP development, parent coaching, and multidisciplinary teamwork, with a strong emphasis on culturally humble, individualized care and robust documentation in the Thom system.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions.
• Experience with infants, toddlers and families is preferred.
• Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
• Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
• Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
• Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
• Partner with families in the development of IFSPs to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
• Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.
• Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in various areas.
