Job summary

Mentor South Bay provides Early Intervention services and seeks an Early Intervention Assistant to support group activities for children in EI programs across MA. You will help implement IFSP outcomes through structured activities, therapeutic play, and positive behavior support, working with caregivers and clinical staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least one year of experience with young children.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience with young children.
• Ability to support group activities and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitate group activities by modeling skills and engaging children in play.
• Support group leaders in implementing activities targeting IFSP outcomes.
• Assist in managing behavior to maintain a safe, structured environment.
• Provide one-on-one support during group activities and transitions.
• Build warm, therapeutic relationships with toddlers and caregivers.
• Prepare materials and set up activity stations for toddler groups.
• Assist with parent groups and provide support during activities.
• Participate in planning discussions to align activities with goals.
• Maintain clean, safe spaces following health procedures.
• Support diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines.
• Monitor safety during all activities and outdoor play.
• Complete attendance and notes in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
