Wyoming Child and Family Development in Casper is seeking a Support Paraeducator to assist classroom teachers in implementing an early childhood program, focusing on social skills, emotional regulation, and school readiness.

You will work with families, support IFSP/IEP goals, and help provide safe, nurturing environments through play-based learning and structured activities, while complying with Head Start standards.

Qualifications

  • Must work with children birth to five, including those with special needs and families.

  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for diverse individuals.
  • Strong communication with staff, children, families, and community.

Responsibilities

  • All duties comply with Head Start/Early Head Start standards and Wyoming regulations.
  • Recruit children for the program per guidelines.
  • Provide care based on child development knowledge.
  • Deliver direct services to children, families, and staff in various settings.
  • Communicate positively with staff, children, and families.
  • Assist children with behavioral concerns and developmental needs.
  • Support socialization activities for children and families.
  • Prepare and complete required paperwork on time.
  • Provide individualized educational activities to promote problem-solving and self-confidence.
  • Support IFSP/IEP goals with teachers, families, and therapists.
  • Keep classrooms clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assume full classroom responsibilities when needed.
  • Perform basic first aid and routine hygiene care.
  • Provide regular care including diaper changes, feeding, and comforting.
  • Participate in child screenings as necessary.
  • Assist with outdoor and playground activities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Board or designee.
