Job summary

Wyoming Child & Family Development is seeking a Support Paraeducator to assist teachers in implementing an early childhood program, focusing on social readiness and emotional regulation. You will support children with unique needs and collaborate with families to foster inclusive, play-based learning.

The role involves following Head Start standards, helping with IFSP/IEP goals, and providing safe, nurturing classroom support with a commitment to mental well-being.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and be 18 years of age (state requirements).
• Must attain additional training or certifications, which may be required by Wyoming Child and Family Development, Inc.
• WCFD will only accept college degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Recruit children for the program per guidelines from DHHS and WCFD.
• Provide care based on knowledge of child development and growth.
• Deliver direct services to children, families, and staff in various settings.
• Communicate positively with staff, children, and families.
• Work effectively with children who have behavioral concerns, developmental disabilities, and/or learning impairments.
• Assist children in developing social competence and emotional regulation.
• Organize and implement group socialization activities for children and families.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide individualized educational activities to help children explore and build self-confidence.
• Support IFSP and/or IEP goals with teachers, family support providers, and therapists.
