Job summary

School of Rock is seeking a part-time Music Instructor to teach Little Wing (ages 4-5) and Rookies (ages 6-7) in Cherry Hill, NJ. The role develops early childhood musicians through rhythm, instrument exploration, and fundamentals.

Instructors will create engaging lesson plans, demonstrate techniques, and communicate progress with parents while maintaining a warm, supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Passion for or experience with children under seven.
• Classroom/early childhood experience preferred.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design; rhythm and rock music concepts.
• Strong customer relations and communication skills.
• Proficient in at least one instrument (guitar, keyboard/piano, drums or voice).
• Part-time with some weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction with lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible at the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance.
• Assist in recruiting and enrolling students.
