Job summary

School of Rock is seeking a part-time Music Instructor for Early Childhood Classes in Cherry Hill, NJ. You will teach Little Wing (4-5) and Rookies (6-7) and help create a warm, inspiring environment for young musicians across five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums.

Applicants should have 4+ years of teaching or performing music, experience with children, and knowledge of music theory and curriculum design. Strong communication with parents is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Passion for and/or experience with children under seven
• Classroom/early childhood education experience preferred
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Strong customer-relations skills with parents and students
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient and positive demeanor
• Proficient in at least one instrument (guitar, keyboard, drums or voice)

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not only songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress after lessons
• Be visible and accessible in the school; assist in rehearsals
• Recruit and enroll students; assist in program delivery
