Job summary

School of Rock Charlotte is seeking an Early Childhood Development Music Instructor for our Little Wing (ages 4-5) and Rookies (ages 6-7) programs. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule and the chance to nurture young musicians through engaging rock and roll activities.

The instructor will teach across five core areas, develop lesson plans, and communicate progress with parents while maintaining a warm, supportive environment for children 4–7.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Passion for and/or experience working with children under the age of seven (7).
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design; rhythm, notation, pop and rock genres.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students, be visible and accessible in the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
• Assist in recruiting and enrolling students.
